After Taking Your Pictures
Ok...you have taken your pictures. Now what?

You now have two options before you:

  1. Have film put straight on computer disk or CD-ROM.
  2. Develop pictures and use a scanner to put them on disk.
  3. Send your pictures to us and we will post them.
Option 1: CD-ROM
Most major photo developing locations now give you the choice of putting your pictures onto a computer disk or a CD-ROM. These services usually cost from $8 to $15.

Option 2: Scanner

Getting Pictures Ready for the Web
Now that your pictures are in a digital format, we must get them ready to go on the web. This includes making sure they are in the correct file format, correct color mode, and proper proportion.

File Format
Web graphics must be either a JPG or a GIF.
This means that they should have a file extension like "yourpic.jpg" or "yourpic.gif".

Color Mode
Web graphics must be in RGB color mode.

Proportion & DPI
Web graphics must be in 72 dpi to decrease download time.
For this site, your pictures must be 210 x 240 pixels. It is not necessary for you to do this though because our site automatically shrinks and crops all pictures to fit correctly. But, you should attempt to resize and crop your pictures to come close to the above dimensions to prevent anything you want in the picture from being cropped out.

You will soon have the opportunity of displaying larger pictures. Currently, the overall picture size limitation is 300072 bytes.
